Hello All,
Welcome to Chairman’s Corner. I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas break, and I wish you all a Happy New Year.
Work has continued over the Christmas Break with the most important job being getting the Floodlights fully working, work is progressing well and hopefully we will have these back up and running in time for our next home fixture on Saturday 11th January against Corinthians meaning we should be back to 3.00pm kick offs. Along with the electrical issue’s we also needed a few new floodlight bulbs and I would like to thank Twist for their support in purchasing these.
We are currently working with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council on an extension to our current lease at the Culverden and will update you with news as soon as there is any.
We also now have the new cabin set up in the Culverden Courtyard which was very kindly donated by local lighting specialist Heathfield & Co with delivery and installation being funded by our supporters as well as Mark Walder at JCR.
Another new addition at the ground is the roof over the Culverden Courtyard providing an area of cover. A massive thank you to Paul and Frankie at Fix-It Scaffolding for supporting us with the continued improvements to the Culverden.
The weather in December saw a lot of postponement’s in local football and we didn’t get to use our new cabin or the roof over the Culverden Courtyard, hopefully these get well used and supported for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately on New Years Eve/New Years Day we had a visit from some Graffiti artist who have tagged the Tea Bar and a few other buildings along with some of the houses in Culverden Down.
We also now have a Match Day Support Group to add to the current volunteers to help share the workload on matchdays.
Obviously, the club’s main income is matchdays and without home games we do not get any income, in January we have three of our four matches are at home so it would be great to get everyone along to the Culverden to support the team and club.
Thank you to everyone that has helped and volunteered their time at the club this season, this is a special club and whilst it’s been hugely challenging to navigate these last few seasons, it’s a joy to do so with such an incredible fan base – Thank You All.
